After I interviewed one of the supervisor, he revealed that these cows are subsidized by the government, whom contributed about 600 imported cows last year to the local community to boost local production. The whole operation was conducted via the local K.U.D (Koperasi Unit Desa), but I was told that lack of management and administration has left the cows unproperly fed and the workers unpaid for months.
